irrelevant. Chemistry and the relations between science, technology, and industry are well surveyed by Crosland and Cardwell respectively. Forbes's essay on mathematical cosmography is not a comprehensive account but the story (albeit interesting) of a few German cartographers. Compared with other recent collections of essays in the history of science, this volume parades no party line: witness...
متن کاملLupeol alkanoates in Brazilian propolis.
High temperature high resolution gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry (HT-HRGC-MS) isa powerful analytical tool. In this work we applied this technique to the study of crude extracts of propolis collected near the city of Uberlândia-Minas Gerais State. Eucalyptus trees and native plants from "cerrado" (savannah) were the material sources disposable for the Apis mellifera bees. A lot ...
متن کاملIsolation of Lupeol, Design and Synthesis of Lupeol Derivatives and their Biological Activity
The triterpenoid, lupeol (1) has been isolated from the leaves extract of Walsura trifoliate. Few novel derivatives (4a–j) were synthesized from the naturally occurring lupeol (1) and confirmed by spectroscopic methods, and tested for antimicrobial and anti-proliferative activity against MDAMB231, IMR32and A549 cell lines. This all compound showed moderate activities.
متن کاملLupeol: An Ubiquitous Compound for Multiple Ailments
Triterpenoid There is a growing interest in natural triterpenoids, also know as phytosterols, due to their wide spectrum of biological activities [1] . Triterpenes are a wide-spread group of natural compounds with considerable practical significance which are produced by arrangement of squalene epoxide in a chair-chair, chai-boat arrangement followed by condensation. Triterpense are important s...
